It’s mid August, the long Kansas road season is coming to a close, days are getting shorter and the nights are getting cooler.   That can only mean one thing…

CX is coming.

The Kansas Cycling Association is proud to announce these currently permitted cyclocross events with more to come.

Quirk Hard Cyclocross 

Sunday September 10 – Featuring Masters, Category, Juniors and Single Speed races plus a FREE kids race.  Onsite registration is available but the promoters encourage you to register online.  11500 Johnson Dr, Shawnee, KS

 

Joules Cross Weekend – Cyclocross 

Saturday September 23 – This event always attracts highly competitive fields in all the usual USAC age groups and categories plus Men’s Pro 1/2/3 and Women’s Pro 1/2/3/4. Register for CX only or continue the offroad fun on Sunday with the Joules Cross – XC MTB event (see below) 1014 N 1800 Rd, Lawrence, KS

 

Joules Cross Weekend – MTB

Sunday September 24 – There’s a category for everyone here: E-Bike, Clydesdale, Novice, Masters, Category…you name it!   Located on the trails near Perry Lake. 6020-6234 Kimberly Rd, Ozawkie, KS

 

Boulevard Cup CX

Sunday October 29 – Held on the shores of Lake Olathe, this event is sure to please even the most demanding CX aficionado. Category, Masters, Juniors, Single Speed and a Kids race.  625 S Lakeshore Dr, Olathe, KS

 

Wednesdayz CX Skillz, Drillz and fake Racing with El Burro

Join El Burro and the Boulevard crew for free community style CX practice at Donderdag! on Wednesday nights starting on 08/23/2023. We will open the gates at 6pm and give you 30 minutes to warm up before we start with a quick drill session and then jump into two mock 20 minute race efforts. Donderdag Bike Park, Shawnee, Kansas.

 

 

KCA Board Announces KBCXR/T and State Championship Schedule

KBCXR/KBCXT

 

The Kansas Cycling Association (KCA) board has declared the KBCXR/KBCXT (Kansas Best CX Rider/Kansas Best CX Team) shall remain in place for the 2022 CX season.  As the current schedule stands (see the calendar) there are four USAC sanctioned CX races on the calendar.  To appear in the KBCXR/T standings, racers must complete  three of the four currently scheduled races. Standings will be posted on the Results page at Kscycling.org

State Championship Races

You read that heading correct – races…plural. With the abbreviated CX schedule, the KCA board and race promoters and have opted to split the Kansas State Championship into two races.

The 360 Cup has been designated the USAC category championship race  LocalCycling.com CX has been designated the age group championship race.
